We hear this phrase so often, and yet it doesn’t strike a chord in us. We feel every polluting person or industry contributes towards the cause but not us.
We are the main contributor towards the heavy depletion of the ozone layer. Therefore, we should take upon ourselves the onus and not blame everyone else.
Let’s start by looking around our house first. The clothes we wear are non-biodegradable since they are made of a plastic called polyester.
Our household goods are mostly made from all kinds of plastic. Every house now has cement, and that is the biggest polluter.
The more cement you use in construction, the greater is your contribution towards pollution—the cars or vehicles you use.
The fuel used by vehicles contributes towards the greatest release of pollutants like Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, etc. So even if you say, I am using an EV or electric vehicle.
The power to recharge that battery comes from the National Grid. The Grid uses fossil fuels to power itself.
So we have to look towards the sun and harness its power.
But fuel-efficient power converters aren’t available. So we have to relook at the stuff around us and think about how is it we can save the environment and, thereby, the future.
If we leave behind a polluting atmosphere now, future generations will suffer badly. So let’s become smarter and try to eliminate all the things contributing to this mayhem.
