“The universal language understood by all is ‘Love.”
I met an adorable child at the ‘Great Wall of China more than a decade ago; when I first travelled to Beijing.
The child started talking to me in Mandarin and myself in English with him. Though we were communicating in our language, we understood the language of love, which is beyond the description of words.
Despite talking with me for a while, he refused to take a picture with me because he felt shy.
It was interesting to learn all about their art, culture, traditions and way of life. Even though the climb was challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed learning about its rich history.
I carried an English translation of key phrases in Mandarin, which I could use while communicating with the locals.
The experience with the locals and the child made me realise that love has no barriers to language or words when you speak from your heart.
I learnt a powerful lesson about the ‘Art of Communication.’ Establishing a connection with others helps to develop lifelong and lasting relationships.
I had travelled all the way to China to witness one of the world’s seven wonders and an architectural marvel on the face of the earth.
How much do you know about the authentic culture of the country of your origin?
Unfortunately, due to the rat race of our life, we are losing some of the rich art and culture, which will become extinct soon if we do not focus on reviving them.
